The cost of the 36-credit Fitchburg State University Master of Education offered through Catherine Leahy Brine, Inc. is $325 per credit. This cost is the same for Master of Education-only candidates or for candidates who also wish to embed licensure within the 36-credit Master of Education Program.

Please note:

If you want both the Master of Education and one of our many DOE-approved license programs, either professional or initial, the total number of credits for both programs is 36. The licensure credits are part of the total 36 credits. Candidates will finish the program with both a Master of Education conferred by Fitchburg State University and licensure, either professional or initial, with endorsement to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (formerly known as the DOE) by Catherine Leahy Brine, Inc.

At the end of the candidate's 36-credit Master of Education program, no other courses are required for licensure for either the professional or initial license programs.

Up to 12 credits (4-Master's level graduate courses) may be requested for transfer into the M.Ed. program by the candidate. All transfer credits must be approved by our Fitchburg State University Program Advisor and must fit the candidate's Plan of Study. The Plan of Study is determined by the candidate's licensure program, if one is included in his/her program.

• book and/or materials fees for each course, as determined by each instructor
• $20 user fee for each on-line course
• $150 Practicum fee for initial License candidates, payable at the time of the Practicum
